A closer look into AA Aquariums from China

Company Background 　

Sealand Holdings Co., Ltd, founded by Mr. Lam Ka Duk, is established in 1993 (that do mean that their subsidiary Sealand Industrial Co., Ltd is founded in 1975) with 2 major sections – Health care and Aquarium. The company based in Hong Kong do have 2 factories, one of them is located in Dongguan, China, which produced aquarium products, mainly, under own label.

Sealand have it's own brand in aquarium and distribute locally in the market of Hong Kong and China since early 80's. In the 90's the company focused in health care products and have expanded rapidly. Recently, they have discovered marvelous opportunities in the export market globally. They started with the international sales on the Interzoo 2002 since than their sales in aquarium products have grown steadily and beside that they are launching on average more than 10 new products every year.

The plant for aquarium products is covering 40,000 m2 with over 800 staffs and experienced workers. They have their own R&D, Engineering and Quality control team and therefore they are capable to handle all product development in a professional manner internally.

Beside these departments they also do have an own tool-making department which enables them to tailor made the production on the requirements of the client and changing requirements of the market. Due to their 40 sets injection machines and 15 finished products production lines Sealand does have enough production capacity for high and increasing demands.

Own label　

In the early 80's Sealand started to introduce the aquarium pumps and tank top filters, which are popular in Asia. In due course of the year they have extended their product range, which consists of aquarium tanks, pumps, filtration systems, lightings and many aquarium accessories today. Today their most successful products are the Fish@hotel.series, an all-in-one aquarium series, which brings a new concept in a complete set of 12 volt systems as well as an easy tank top filtration idea.

They are differentiating themselves opposite of other suppliers by introducing new and innovative products and to provide fast and efficient communications.
Therefore it is not a surprise that AA is a well-established brand in South East Asia.In future Sealand is going to continue to focus in the aquarium business, diversify their product range and start to involve in other pet businesses (they will launch some products for reptiles soon)

- Taken advantage of technology to improve their supply chain, shorten their delivery time and to improve the speed to market for new products;

- Participating in various international pet shows – Global Pet Expo, Aquarama, Pet Fair Asia, Interzoo, CIPS.

Beside that they find it very important to grow with their customers and build up long-term business relationships.
